Enjoying family life at our farmhouse and on vacation: family farmhouse favorites, family fun and travel ideas, and healthy family tips.

Hello, I’m Renee!
Welcome to Life and Sons, a space where I wholeheartedly share family farmhouse favorites, family fun and travel ideas, and healthy family tips.
I am a believer, a farmer’s wife, a boy mom, a nana, and a school counselor by day. I believe in building a life rooted in love and growing in grace. I am an empty-nester! Let the adventure begin.

The Farmhouse
About two years ago, we sold our house in town. Insert mixed emotions. We bought a camper, and set out on a great adventure. Well, that lasted about six months. (Long story.) We sold the camper, moved into a rent house, and here we are – still building.
How long does it take to build a farmhouse anyway?
We shall see……stay tuned!

About ME
I’m a small town Texas girl who loves to travel to big cities like New York City and San Diego. I went to Texas A&M University and studied journalism. After becoming a mom of four sons, I started teaching public school – first grade and special education. Now, I enjoy my life as a school counselor.
Gluten-free, anti-inflammatory diet
I live gluten-free life and follow an anti-inflammatory diet (well, most of the time). We love to travel and eat out – so finding great places to eat gluten-free on vacation is a must for us!
Family Fun & Travel
I am married to my high school sweetheart. I am the mother of four sons and a grandmother. We enjoy family fun activities. We love big family vacations and holiday celebrations. If you have ever seen a group of 40 plus people with matching t-shirts at Disney it may have been us.
Healthy Family
I believe in practicing healthy habits that renew my mind, body, and spirit. I love sharing a healthy lifestyle with my family. Chris and I endeavor to live a life rooted in love and growing in grace.
Little Tidbits
I play the piano. Chris, my husband, owns a septic installation business. I am a military mom. I love to study family history. I hosted a radio show one semester in college. I was football fever mom of the week on KVUE in Austin. I am an introvert who raised extroverted sons.
